Meet the Doctors
Dr. George Thomas Lynch, “Dr. George,” grew up in Sussex County, Delaware. He graduated in 2001 from the Honors Program at the University of Delaware with a degree in Biological Sciences and obtained a Spanish minor while studying abroad at the University of Costa Rica. Dr. George received his D.M.D from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, in 2005.
While in college
While at PENN, Dr. George was chosen for the Dental Care Network, a selective program that enables dental students to fulfill educational requirements in a private practice setting. He also acquired additional training during externships at Katholieke University in Belgium and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. During these externships, he became interested in treating young patients and acquired additional experience on the dental mobile unit providing oral healthcare to children throughout West Philadelphia. Upon receiving his doctorate from PENN, Dr. George was honored amongst his fellow classmates with the Community and Pediatric Dental Award.
After graduation, Dr. George completed a two-year pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in North Philadelphia, where he received intensive training treating children with a wide range of medical and dental needs. Following his specialty training, Dr. George joined a private pediatric dental practice in southern New Jersey where he practiced for 4 years prior to starting his own practice in Center City Philadelphia.
Currently, Dr. George also serves as clinical faculty at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. George recognized a need for quality pediatric dental care in Philadelphia, the city in which he now lives and has grown to love. In a recent statistical survey in Men’s Health Magazine, it was stated that Philly received an “F” when it came to dental health care, ranking it #2 among “American cities with the worst teeth.” Dr. George wants to change this perception and believes that dental health care is only improved and maintained when a patient looks to his or her dentist with trust and understanding. This relationship has to start early knowing the importance of encouraging positive experiences through fun, rewarding interactions with patients at a young age.
